Banko Gotiti Washing Station is situated in Ethiopiaâs renowned Gedeb region, an area celebrated for producing coffees of exceptional quality. Here, hundreds of smallholder farmers cultivate coffee on small plots at elevations of up to 2,200 metres above sea level. The regionâs fertile soils, cool climate, and deep-rooted coffee-growing traditions create the perfect conditions for coffees with outstanding clarity and complexity.
Once harvested, the ripe cherries are delivered to the washing station, where they are carefully sorted, washed, and dried. This washed process brings out the coffeeâs natural character, producing a clean, elegant, and distinctly Ethiopian cup.
Banko Gotiti is wonderfully versatile. Brewed as a filter coffee, it offers a delicate, tea-like profile with floral aromatics and lively citrus notes. As espresso, it becomes round and buttery, with a soft sweetness and smooth milk chocolate character.

Keen Coffee is a specialty coffee roaster driven by a simple idea: great coffee starts with passion and ends with precision. Every day, the team focuses on sourcing, roasting, and refining coffees with distinct flavour profiles, always aiming to reveal each beanâs natural character.
They work directly with farmers, cupping and selecting top lots while supporting projects that improve quality from farm to export. This hands-on approach is paired with constant experimentation in the roastery, where recipes are tested and optimised to deliver the best possible cup.
Roasting is done on a state-of-the-art, smoke-free Loring roaster. This allows precise, tailored profiles for each origin while reducing energy use and environmental impact. The result is clean, vibrant coffee that highlights the influence of climate, altitude, and soil.
Keen Coffeeâs direct trade model began with a partnership with a farmer in Brazil and has since grown into a network of long-term relationships. They pay well above commodity prices (often over 150% of C-market) and focus on transparency, fairness, and quality. Sustainability runs through the whole chainâfrom how beans are sourced to how theyâre roasted and shipped.
In short, Keen Coffee roasts with care for flavour, farmers, and the planet.
